While working on this piece I was inspired by the idea of being an explorer from out space ... what would I look for to draw? Therefore it's loving but removed. As if I'm an explorer trying to understand the human race. As an artist the internal world of one's self gets worked through pretty quickly. My very naturally started to venture outside of "self." I like that, it's an important part of human evolution.

Rene Carol Capone (b. September 22, 1978) is an American painter known for his depiction of the figure with whimsical and mysterious imagery often used together. He also works with stories and myths.Capone began his career as an artist creating dreamlike, sensual, often homoerotic images of young men in search of love, identity, and their place in the world. His paintings and drawings are highly prized by art collectors in the LGBT community, they now hang on the walls of private and corporate collectors around the world. Born in Niskayuna. A small town in upstate New York. He is the oldest of four children. His relationship to the famed mobster Al Capone remains a well kept mystery. His Birth certificate legally says Capone. He attended the Parsons School of Design in New York City, NY with a scholarship in fine arts. Upon completion in 2000, he moved to California where he still currently resides. Private collectors of Capone's work can be found in the United States of America, Canada, Sweden, England, France, Japan, and the Netherlands. In 2004 Glaxo Smith Kline became his first corporate collector.
